THOAlerts (“we,” “our,” or “the Add-on”) is a Google Sheets notification add-on developed by Tho Digitals. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use THOAlerts.

🔒 Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance

THOAlerts’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Google Account Information

When you install and use THOAlerts, we access the following information from your Google account:

  • Email Address: Used to identify your account for Pro license activation and support purposes.
  • Google Sheets Data: THOAlerts accesses only the specific cells and ranges you explicitly configure in your notification rules. We do NOT access any other Google Drive files or spreadsheets.

1.2 Data You Provide

THOAlerts stores the following configuration data to function properly:

  • Notification Rules: Sheet name, cell range, conditions, recipient addresses, message templates.
  • Recipient Information: Email addresses, webhook URLs (Discord, Slack, Teams, Google Chat, Telegram, Larksuite) that you configure.
  • License Key: If you upgrade to Pro, your license key is stored to verify your subscription status.
  • Usage Statistics: Monthly notification count to enforce quota limits (550/month for Free, 50,000/month for Pro).

1.3 What We DO NOT Collect

  • ❌ We do NOT access or store the content of cells outside your configured ranges.
  • ❌ We do NOT access other Google Drive files (Docs, Slides, etc.).
  • ❌ We do NOT sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • ❌ We do NOT track your browsing activity outside of THOAlerts.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

2.1 Core Functionality

  • Send Notifications: Deliver alerts to your configured channels (Email, Discord, Slack, etc.) when spreadsheet conditions are met.
  • Rule Processing: Evaluate conditions (text matching, number ranges, date operators, regex, CSV list matching) to determine when to trigger notifications.
  • Dynamic Variables: Replace message template variables ({CELL}, {VALUE}, {USER}, {TIME}, {ROW_JSON}, etc.) with actual data.

2.2 License Management

  • Pro Activation: Verify license keys via our secure API (thodigitals.com) to unlock Pro features.
  • Quota Enforcement: Track usage to enforce Free (550/month) and Pro (50,000/month) limits.

2.3 Support & Improvements

  • Customer Support: Respond to inquiries via email (support@thodigitals.com).
  • Bug Fixes: Diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Feature Development: Improve THOAlerts based on anonymous usage patterns (no personal data).

3. Data Storage & Security

3.1 Where Your Data is Stored

  • Google Apps Script Properties Service: Rules and settings are stored in Google’s secure infrastructure using PropertiesService (Document Properties and User Properties).
  • Our Servers: License keys are verified via HTTPS API at thodigitals.com. We do NOT store your spreadsheet data on our servers.

3.2 Security Measures

  • 🔒 HTTPS Encryption: All communication between THOAlerts and external services (email, webhooks, license API) uses TLS/SSL encryption.
  • 🛡️ OAuth 2.0: We use Google’s secure OAuth 2.0 protocol for authentication. We never store your Google password.
  • 🔐 Minimal Scopes: THOAlerts requests only the minimum permissions required (see Section 4).
  • ⚙️ Input Validation: All user inputs (email, webhook URLs, regex patterns) are validated to prevent injection attacks.

3.3 Data Retention

  • Active Users: Your rules and settings are retained as long as you use THOAlerts.
  • Uninstall: When you uninstall THOAlerts, all stored data (rules, license keys, usage stats) is permanently deleted from Google’s Properties Service.
  • License Database: Pro license keys are retained for verification purposes. You can request deletion by contacting support@thodigitals.com.

4. OAuth Scopes & Permissions

THOAlerts requests the following Google OAuth scopes to function:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.scriptapp

Why We Need These Scopes

  • spreadsheets.currentonly: Read/write access to ONLY the current spreadsheet where THOAlerts is used (not other files).
  • script.external_request: Send notifications via email and webhooks to external services (Discord, Slack, Teams, etc.).
  • userinfo.email: Identify your account for license activation and support.
  • script.scriptapp: Create installable triggers to detect cell changes in real-time.

✅ Limited Use Compliance

THOAlerts only uses Google user data for providing and improving the notification features you explicitly configure. We do NOT use your data for serving advertisements or any other purposes beyond what is disclosed in this policy.

5. Third-Party Services

THOAlerts integrates with the following third-party services to deliver notifications:

5.1 Email (Gmail API)

  • Purpose: Send email notifications via MailApp service.
  • Data Shared: Recipient email, message content (based on your template).
  • Privacy Policy: Google Privacy Policy

5.2 Webhook Services

When you configure webhook channels, THOAlerts sends data to external services:

Data Shared: Only the message content you configure in your template (e.g., cell values, sheet name, user email, timestamp). We do NOT share your entire spreadsheet.

5.3 License Verification API

  • Service: ThoDigitals.com (our server)
  • Purpose: Verify Pro license keys.
  • Data Shared: License key, email address.
  • Encryption: HTTPS/TLS 1.3

6. Your Rights & Choices

6.1 Access & Control

  • View Rules: Access all your notification rules via THO Alerts → Manage Rules in Google Sheets.
  • Edit/Delete Rules: You can modify or delete any rule at any time.
  • Uninstall: Remove THOAlerts via Extensions → Manage Add-ons → Uninstall. All data is deleted immediately.

6.2 Data Portability

Since your rules are stored in Google Apps Script Properties, you can export your configuration by contacting us at support@thodigitals.com.

6.3 Right to Deletion

  • Automatic: Uninstalling THOAlerts deletes all rules and settings.
  • Manual Request: Email support@thodigitals.com to request deletion of license keys from our database.

6.4 Opt-Out of Notifications

You can pause or delete individual rules without uninstalling the add-on. No notifications will be sent for paused rules.

7. Children’s Privacy

THOAlerts is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data is processed on Google’s global infrastructure, which may involve transfers to countries outside your jurisdiction. By using THOAlerts, you consent to such transfers. Google complies with GDPR, CCPA, and other international privacy regulations.

9. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under GDPR:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of your data.
  • Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Limit how we use your data.
  • Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object: Object to data processing for specific purposes.

10. CCPA Compliance (California Users)
